Description
The Tabriz Firefighting Tower stands proudly at 23 meters in height, boasting an octagonal brick structure. Its pinnacle features an octagonal veranda supported by eight robust pillars. This veranda served as the watchtower, where vigilant scouts would keep a constant eye on the city. Upon sighting smoke or flames, they would sound the alarm bell, prompting a swift response from the city’s firefighters.
Inside the tower, a cylindrical chamber houses a spiral stairway leading to the summit. The tower was equipped with an ever-burning light source atop the monitoring platform, ensuring its visibility during the darkest of nights, and guiding people to safety.
