Introduction

Milad Tower rises 435 meters above Tehran on Nasr Street, serving as a major telecommunication hub and a prominent city landmark. Opened after 11 years of construction with the slogan “Heaven is near”, it ranks as the sixth-tallest telecommunication tower in the world and the tallest structure in Tehran. It is also the third-tallest tower in the Middle East.

The Milad Tower complex integrates administrative offices, commercial centers, and tourism facilities, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors. Beyond the tower itself, the surrounding area offers a variety of amenities, including restaurants, convention halls, museums, and recreational spaces — a true all-in-one entertainment and tourism destination.

Architecture and Structure

Milad Tower is a massive, 150,000-ton structure comprising multiple components. The tower features 17,000 square meters of glass and is divided into three main sections: the base, the main shaft, and the circular pod at the top. It contains 12 floors, each serving distinct purposes:

  • Ground and 1st floors: Safety facilities and emergency shelters

  • 2nd floor: Handicraft gallery

  • 3rd floor: Carpet and art gallery

  • 3rd–10th floors: Museums, restaurants, and entertainment areas

  • 9th floor: Observation terrace with panoramic views of Tehran

  • 11th floor: Public art gallery (SkyDome)

  • Rotating restaurant: Offers fine dining with a 360-degree city view

  • Concert Hall (Hafez Hall): The largest hall in the complex, hosting cultural and musical events

SkyDome

The SkyDome, located at a height of 305 meters, is a striking 13-meter-tall glass dome at the top of Milad Tower. Its octagonal walls display artworks that celebrate ancient Iranian myths, symbols, and historical narratives. These pieces highlight the evolution of Iranian culture and civilization over more than nine thousand years, from the ancient empires to modern-day Iran.
