History
This garden was built in the past centuries as a private garden for the royal families of Shiraz. Over time, Delgosha Garden became a popular tourist destination in Shiraz and still attracts many visitors.
The development of this garden goes back to before the Islamic and Sassanid eras. When Timur Gorkani was in his prime, he ordered them to build a garden with the same name in Samarkand.
Delgosha Garden’s worst condition is related to Nader Shah-e Afshar’s time and the beginning of the Zandiyeh dynasty, which took a lot of damage and during the time of Karim Khan Zand was fully repaired. Some of the buildings in this garden belong to the Qajar era.
Architecture
The mansion in the middle of the garden was built in the Sassanid architectural style. This three-story mansion has two entrance doors on both sides of the building. Wooden ceilings with beautiful plasters, mirror works, and oil paintings make this building a work of art. Moreover, in front of the building, a large stone pond attracts so much attention.
There is a museum in this mansion, where you will see some collection of historical works, including coins, clothes, stamps, maps, and a collection of 50 old radios, which can be an interesting experience for those attracted to old things.
