Nasir Al0-Mulk Mosque
Also called Pink Mosque because of its colored glasses, is one of the eye-catching and valuable mosques in Shiraz from the point of view of tiling and unique morals.
History
This mosque was built by the order of Ali Mollahbashi, known as Nasir Al-Mulk. The architect of this place was Mohammad Hassan Memar and it took 12 years.
Description of The Mosque
This mosque is located in Gode Araban. Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque has beautiful tiling and unique morals. The area of the mosque is 2890 square meters. Many colored glasses are used in this mosque, which is why it is called the Pink Mosque of Shiraz. This mosque has a main entrance made of Polychrome tiles. The entrance doors of the mosque are two wooden doors, above these doors there are poems by Shoorideh Shirazi on the marble.
This mosque has two eastern and western Shabestan. The western Shabestan has a brick façade and is also known as Winter. The vault of the Shabestan is above the spiral columns. These columns are placed in two rows of six because of 12 Imams. The eastern Shabestan, which is known as Summer Shabestan, has stonework similar to Vakil Mosque and is made of sandstone. The floor of this place is turquoise tiles. Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque has two north and south porches. The north porch is unique because it has three arches and the middle arch is called ” Tagh Morvarid”. Between the bricks of this arch, wood has been used to secure the mosque against earthquakes.
Visiting Hour
Visiting hours of the mosque in the first six months of the year are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and in the second six months of the year are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The best time to visit Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque for photography and to see the light and color in the mosque is from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning.
