architecture
The Shafei Mosque boasts a remarkable area of 1,060 square meters and showcases stunning Islamic architecture that draws inspiration from classic Ottoman mosques. The dome and the stable half-domes, long in size, along with the pointed minarets, intricate paintings, and decorations, inscriptions in Tughra script, thick columns, and the high central space under the Islamic dome are all clear examples of the exquisite beauty and architecture of mosques found in Turkey. While the Shafei Mosque may resemble other mosques in Iran, its internal architecture is unique, particularly the intricate plasters showcasing verses from the Holy Quran. The mosque’s metal structure features a type of arch system, while the white travertine stone exterior is breathtaking. One of the three minarets is old, while the other two are simple and have a golden color.
