Tupkhaneh Bazaar
Tupkhaneh Bazaar is part of the Kermanshah Bazaar, featuring eighteen markets mostly dedicated to selling fruits and vegetables. This extensive bazaar begins at the gate of Chogha Sorkh (the starting point of Tupkhaneh Bazaar) and extends to the end of Seyed Jomeh Bridge. It is one of the famous places in Kermanshah. Interestingly, in the past, the caravansary of this place stored cannons and artillery, hence its name “Tupkhaneh Bazaar,” where “Tupkhaneh” means artillery in Persian. Before the advent of motor vehicles, this route was highly prosperous. All caravanserais traveling from Mesopotamia to the center and east of Iran, including this route and other routes of the Grand Bazaar, enjoyed significant prosperity.
